There are 2 catagories which Special Appearances fall under. Private and Public.
Public Appearances start at 1 hour. But are half the price of Private.
The reason? We get to market to a large influx of people. Lots of business cards, signs, banners, etc.
As opposed to a single party. However, a single party gets more tailored with your special little hero in mind! Catoring to them and likely a lot more cool stuff is involved! Such as fog machines, Music, choreographed fights! And more!.
How to tell the difference?

Is there cake? Is someone getting gifts? Is it a birthday party? Wedding? Celebration? It's probably a

Normal Price
Public Appearance
Lots of people? Public location where anyone can join? Vendors, Banners, and Food Trucks? It's probably a
Public Event.
